Foundation Board Member Needs Your Vote in

 Football Fan Contest

Dru (Barnes) McCoy, president-elect of the Foundation board, entered a contest sponsored by Frito-Lay and the NFL.  Dru submitted a photo of her family (the Barnes Family) and included a 100 word essay on why she believes her family is the NFL's most fanatical family.  AND, they were selected as one of the eight finalists!

All finalists were asked to make a video, representative of their essay, at NFL Films in Mt. Laurel, New Jersey.  That video is posted (along with the seven other finalist's videos) on the Frito Lay website at:

http://callingallfamilies.com

Please log on to this website and vote for the BARNES FAMILY video!

The first stage of the contest runs from December 1st through December 15th, 2009.  The top two families receiving the most votes will have a runoff from December 16th through December 31st, 2009 to determine the Grand Prize winner.

The Grand Prize winner gets a 5-day/4-night trip for six to Miami, FL from 2/4/10 through 2/8/10 to attend Super Bowl XLIV.  It includes hotel accommodations, six suite tickets to the Super Bowl, six tickets to the Super Bowl Saturday Night Party and six tickets to the NFL Tailgate Party (approximate retail value= $17,300).

You do not have to register or give any personal information.  You just go to the website and you can vote as many times as you want.

We appreciate any votes you find time to cast in this really fun FOOTBALL FAN Contest.  GO COLTS!!!!!  And, Go Dru...we hope you win!

Tax Benefits of Cash Gifts

Sara: We had a pretty good year this year. After all the financial changes last year, we decided it was a good time to be more careful. So we watched our budget, took a less expensive vacation and we actually have substantial savings at the end of this year.

Savvy Senior
Working into Retirement

Dear Savvy Living,
My wife and I are both in our early sixties and recently sat down with a financial adviser to figure out our needs when we retire. What we learned is that if we're going to do some of the things we'd like to do, we're going to need some extra income. So, can you direct us to some good resources that can help us find some interesting part-time or full-time work after we retire?

The Worker, Homeownership, and Business Assistance Act of 2009 extended and expanded the home buyer credit. The credit is extended from November 30, 2009 until April 30, 2010. In addition, if a buyer is in a binding contract by April 30, 2010, he or she may close on the home by June 30, 2010 and still qualify.

While U.S. markets were closed on Thursday for the Thanksgiving holiday, major Asian and European markets were scrambling to deal with the news that Dubai World, a Dubai government funded investment-corporation, seeks to delay payment on as much as $60 billion in debt for at least six months.

Treasurys fell this week following release of economic data suggesting that the U.S. economy is improving. The Labor Department reported jobless claims dropping to 466,000 last week.

Freddie Mac reported rates falling to all time lows this week. While the 30-year fixed rate mortgage (FRM) fell to the lowest level recorded, the 15-year FRM dropped to a new record low since the prior week.

Let it snow, let it snow, let it snow.
