Year-End IRA
Gifts Are Still Possible
If
you are 71 1/2 or over, you can make a tax-free gift to the
Community Foundation from your traditional IRA.
AND,
you won't pay income tax on the amount of your gift. Tell your
traditional IRA administrator that you want to make a "qualified
charitable distribution".
Then
give us a call at 765.662.0065 and we'll give you our federal
tax ID number and our legal name. The administrator will send
your tax-free gift directly to us. But, don't forget,
it must be postmarked by December 31, 2009!
This
giving opportunity has been with us since 2006. Congress might extend
it, as it did once before, but no one can say for sure. So,
take advantage of this while it lasts.
Note:
We do not advise on personal income tax issues. Please consult your
tax advisor for full information. Only your advisor can give you
definitive advice based on your personal financial circumstances.

I looked up the acronym S.N.O.W. today
online just for fun and this is what it said S.N.O.W. stands for:
Super Nerds Own the World
Now that's funny! I wonder if Bill Gates made
that one up?
Anyway, it's good for a laugh on a
snowy Monday!
