Some words of wisdom from GILDA RADNER, Comedian (1946-1989):  "While we have the gift of life, it seems to me the only trajedy is to allow part of us to die--whether it is our spirit, our creativity, or our glorious uniqueness."

United Way is Moving!BoysGirlsColorTees

Many of you may have already heard about the United Way's upcoming move.  The United Way has rented office space from the Community Foundation for many years and we've enjoyed getting to know them better, seeing all of their successes, and calling them friends.  But, as of February 1st, the UW will be moving to 205 S. Washington Street in Marion to make more room for both organizations.

As a way to make the burden of moving a bit easier, the Foundation board did vote to provide a grant for the United Way's relocation expenses and, of course, all expressed best wishes to them in the future.  No matter what their address, you can rest assured that the United Way will be around to serve Grant County for many years to come.

You can find them at:

United Way of Grant County, Inc.

205 South Washington, Street

P.O. Box 61

Marion, IN  46952

Dear Savvy Living,
Is there anything to know when it comes to buying a cane? My dad has arthritis in his knee and could use a little extra help getting around. What can you tell me?

Debate Over "Cadillac" Healthcare Tax

On Jan. 6, 2010, President Obama met with two key Senators to discuss the proposed healthcare legislation. He discussed the healthcare bill with Sen. Chris Dodd (D-CT) and Sen. Max Baucus (D-MT). Sen. Dodd and Sen. Baucus have been very involved in the development of the two major bills that were combined into the Senate healthcare act.

As John Wooden once said, "You cannot live a perfect day without doing something for someone who will never be able to repay you."  So true!
