Did You Know?
The very first Apple Macintosh Computer was introduced
on January 24, 1984. It was the first commercially successful
personal computer to feature a mouse. Throughout the years, the
Foundation has purchased several Macs and mice for the community.
Oddly enough, we bought all those mice, yet not one single cat.

Caring
for Minor Children
"Who would take our children? I am not sure anyone would be
willing to take them," remarked Helen to her attorney Clara.
"It's not that they aren't good children. They are all fine, but

take them?"

Healthy

equipment that can help seniors?
Washington
Hotline
With
a flurry of meetings this week, the fiscally conservative "Blue
Dog" Democratic group confronted Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) and
Majority Leader Steny Hoyer (D-MD) on healthcare.

New General Motors Launches
The
"new" General Motors (GM) launched this week fresh out of
Chapter 11 bankruptcy. The retooled company began operations with a
new corporate structure, a stronger balance sheet and a renewed
commitment to customer service.
Treasurys Bounce on Government
Auction
Treasury
yields jumped this week following what bond traders called one of the
best 10-year note government auctions ever. The yield on 10-year
notes fell to the lowest level in nearly seven weeks.
Freddie
Mac reported mortgage rates falling again this week on renewed
concern over the labor market and unemployment numbers. The 30-year
fixed-rate mortgage (FRM) averaged 5.20%, down from last week when it
averaged 5.32%.
