Trusts can be quite useful for protecting children. However,

for some children the trust serves an additional function: It protects the principal from being rapidly spent by a child.

Treasury Yields Rise on January Retail Figures

Short-term Treasury yields rose to their highest level since January this week following a reported increase in retail sales. The better-than-anticipated sales data made Treasurys less appealing, pushing prices lower.

Dear Donors,

I know you all read the top article about the Spirit of Philanthropy Award.

But, did you really consider who you might be able to nominate.  All too

often we forget to encourage others because we simply get busy.  But, I've honestly never seen anyone who was encouraged too much.

I remember waaaay back in high school one of my counselors told me that

I would probably never even make it into college even though I was in the

top ten of my graduating class.

But, I was blessed with many others in my life that encouraged me and told me if I could believe it then I could achieve it.

Now after earning a Bachelor's degree and a Master's degree, I really do

think back to those old high school days.  I was so blessed to have plenty of encouragers in my life...because I believed them.

Who can you encourage today?  Maybe it's a kind word, a short note, an e-card, a pat on the back...or maybe it's the opportunity to nominate them for the Foundation's Spirit of Philanthropy Award. Think about it...you just might change someone's life.

Peace and Blessings,
