Survive Ongoing Losses?
Palm reported another quarterly
loss this week, leaving some analysts to question whether the PDA
provider will survive. For the third-quarter of 2010, Palm reported a
loss of $22 million.
Treasury Curve
Flattens on Low Inflation
Market analysts are reporting a
"flattening" of the Treasury curve as inflation remains
low. The yield between shorter and longer maturity notes has narrowed
in the last month with reports of consumer prices largely unchanged
and producer prices declining.
Fixed Rates
Flat this Week
Freddie Mac reported that
fixed-rate mortgages were flat this week, while short-term rates
remained mixed. The 30-year fixed-rate mortgage (FRM) averaged 4.96%,
up slightly from last week when it averaged 4.95%.
