Tips and Treatments for Snoring Seniors

Dear Savvy Living,

My 60-year-old husband has become a terrible snorer, especially over the past few years. It's gotten to the point where I can't stand to sleep in the same room as him anymore. What can help us?

Washington Hotline

Healthcare Bills Pass

Finances

Cost Plus Rises on Profitable Quarter

Shares of Cost Plus, Inc. rose over 10% this week following the company's report of a profitable fourth-quarter for 2009 and a positive outlook for 2010. For the fourth-quarter, the company reported $21 million in net income, a $39 million improvement over the prior year.

Treasurys Fall; Auctions Push Yields Higher

Please help our Local Chapter by participating in our 5th Annual Festival of Tables

What is it?  Red Cross Fundraiser in which any organization, business, church, family or group can sponsor a table for $100. This includes a meal for up to 8, plus live entertainment by Upward Praise and the Rejoice Team. Each table sponsored will be decorated by you. The end result will be many tables set in different themes thus the "Festival of Tables." We also will have a basket auction (ex: Day at the Spa, Tastefully Simple, and John Deere). We will be glad to take any items you may want to donate for our auction.

How do I decorate?  You can use any theme and decorations you would like. You can promote your business, church or any organization.  Examples of past themes: James Dean, Day at the Beach, seasonal, patriotic, or business décor. Prizes will be awarded to the top 3 tables. Create your own masterpiece from china to paper. (These three are samples from last year)

Dear Donors,

March Madness, Final Four, Brackets, Spring Break, and SUNSHINE...yes, it's (finally) Spring in Indiana!  Ahhhh, let's just take a minute to soak it all in.

I know my own kids are counting down the days until end of school already.  And, many more across our county are counting down to the day they graduate and hoping that a scholarship or two will help make their dream of college a reality.

Did you know The Community Foundation of Grant County grants over 200 individual scholarships each year?  However, we have nearly 400 applicants requesting college funding.

It's difficult to say "no" to any of these deserving candidates, but you can help.  If you know what a benefit a college degree can be to your quality of life, if someone gave you a leg up along the way, or if you simply know some of these hard working kids that are striving for college acceptance, you can always make a donation to the Foundation to help.  Our website is open 24 hours a day for online donations. Or you could set up a scholarship fund!  Either way, there are many ways to contact us:
