fall leaves

"November comes
And November goes,
With the last red berries
And the first white snows.

With night coming early,
And dawn coming late,
And ice in the bucket
And frost by the gate.

The fires burn
And the kettles sing,
And earth sinks to rest
Until next spring."

If you have a chronic illness, your personal planning will need to give careful consideration to your condition. Many Americans experience ALS disease, Alzheimer's, Huntington's disease, Parkinson's disease, Multiple Sclerosis or other types of chronic diseases.

Dear Savvy Living,
I'm interested in helping my 85-year-old grandfather make an audio or video recording of his memoirs, but could use some help. I recently read about this in a magazine and thought, with the holidays approaching, a CD or DVD of grandpa talking about his life's meaningful moments would be a neat gift to my family. What can you tell me?

On October 29, 2009, House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) unveiled the House version of healthcare reform. She feels that The Affordable Healthcare for America Act (H.R. 3962).

American Airlines has gained the support of the Association of Professional Flight Attendants (APFA) in its bid for anti-trust immunity. The Fort Worth-based airline seeks to work more closely with British Airways, Iberia Airlines, Finnair and Royal Jordanian Airlines to set prices and schedules.

Treasury prices declined this week, pushing yields higher as investors showed renewed interest in the stock market. A report released by the U.S. Department of Commerce showed that the United States economy grew by 3.5% in the third-quarter, ending four straight quarters of negative growth.

The results of Freddie Mac's Primary Mortgage Market Survey showed the 30-year fixed-rate mortgage increased its average to 5.03%, up from last week when it averaged 5.00%.

How did November sneak up on us so fast?

I know my kids have already mapped out how many school days until Thanksgiving and Winter Break!

Basically that means our already busy lives are about to get even busier.

This makes the next two weeks perfect for considering year-end giving (a) so you don't forget your favorite charities in the midst of the holiday chaos and (b) so that you are where you want to be with your charitable deductions for the 2009 year.

So, take advantage of our November 13th online matching day or call me with other questions/ideas about your charitable giving opportunities.

We are here to help!

Building a Tradition of Giving...even after Daylight Savings Time!
