2007 - 2008 Grant County Garfield Project $2,000 was awarded to place a Garfield statue in Jonesboro and Upland. National Inventors Hall of Fame $5,000 was awarded to provide scholarships for Marion Community School's students to attend Camp Invention. Cardinal Greenway $15,000 was awarded for marketing and fundraising efforts, excluding personnel costs. Fairmount Ministerial Association $5,000 was awarded for a community counseling center in Fairmount. Upland Medic 8 Ambulance $6,960 was awarded to purchase new pagers for EMS volunteer staff. McCulloch Middle School $1,490 was awarded to replace shoes and backpacks for students after a mercury spill. Project Leadership A $15,000 proactive grant was awarded for the 21st Century Scholar Program. Bridges to Health A $15,000 proactive grant was awarded to support Bridges to Health. CASA of Grant County $1,900 was awarded to purchase computers, printers, a digital camera, and internet access. Special Olympics $5,750 was awarded to purchase basketball uniforms and supplies. Van Buren Library (On Behalf of All Grant County Libraries) $16,000 was awarded for the Imagination Library. MGH Permanent Fitting Station $1,000 was awarded to purchase car seats for families with financial need. Grant County Garfield Project $2,000 was awarded for Garfield statues to be placed in Gas City and Matthews. Marion PAL Club $6,800 was awarded for a safety barrier at the PAL Club. Walton Center Arts Society A reimbursement grant of up to $5,000 was awarded for student tickets to performing arts shows. Junior Achievement $2,000 was awarded to provide JA BizTown to RJ Baskett Middle School. Marion-Grant County Senior Center $4,000 was awarded for the SCALES Program. St. Martin Community Center $7,400 was awarded for a new forklift. Second Harvest Food Bank $10,000 was granted for a drive-in freezer/cooler. Grace House $8,500 was awarded for appliances and furnishings for transition housing units. St. Martin Community Center $4,939 was awarded to expand the computer lab. Mississinewa Youth Sports Challenge grant of $1 for every $1 raised up to $7,500 was awarded to replace the gym floor at the old JC Knight building in Jonesboro, Indiana. LEAD, Inc. $3,500 was awarded to create and promote a web site. Grant County Consortium $32,000 proactive grant awarded for an educational study to form an educational county-wide strategic plan. Gilead Ministries $1,500 was awarded to upgrade their database program. Habitat for Humanity $10,000 was awarded to complete a house being built for a family of ten. Grant County Rescue Mission $2,098 was awarded to purchase a walk-in freezer. Gas City Rescue Squad $8,000 was awarded to purchase automatic external defibrillators and reflective jackets. Cub Scout Pack 3426 $875 was awarded to replace the pinewood derby track. St. Martin dePorres Center $3,000 was awarded for a community garden project. City of Marion Parks Department $11,250 was awarded to purchase fencing material for Friendship Corner.
